Q: The vanilla animation is actually accurate. Bows is just rotating in the hand when you shoot them, like in the Olympics or something.
A: No. Watch the video to see how it actually animates. The vanilla animation isn't rotating the bow around in the hand, the string moves forwards to the wrong side, as if unstrung. I hope this diagram helps with your understanding.
Q: The vanilla animation is needed! Bethesda animated it wrong on purpose because reality is too boring, and they needed to animate it wrong to sell the motion!
A: Bethesda didn't invert the bow for the crossbow animation, other games didn't animate bows this way, and the animators didn't need to animate bows this way in these cartoons to "sell" the animation: Looney Toons, Looney Toons, Brave, so is this really needed?
