Better Dynamic Snow SE leverages the projected snow textures from Skyrim Special Edition to add new features and deeper immersion; giving the world a considerably greater lived-in feel. This is a completely alternative method being utilized verses BDS v2. The previous version of BDS will remain available to those that need or prefer it.

• []Revamped farmhouses inspired by No Snow Under the Roof! Snow is mostly removed under overhangs and balconies to give a feeling that their occupants sweep and care for their properties. Exposed areas and roofs have more overall snow coverage.

  []Improved snowy walkways. Vanilla walkways have a solid blanket of snow. With BDS, walkways outside of public places (such as stores) will have less snow coverage to mimic a natural clearing from NPCs walking on them. Other walkways that are less traveled will have slightly more snow coverage.

  []Mesh fixes! Many, many lingering issues on the farmhouse meshes, like texture stretching and flickering issues, have been addressed and corrected in the included meshes.

  []Performance friendly edits that should result in no performance loss.

  []New ProjectedDiffuse.dds texture replacement for vanilla that is softer, blends better, and is more detailed. Highly recommended, if using vanilla snow!

  COMPATIBILITY

  Better Dynamic Snow is compatible with the following:

  • []SMIM (users should overwrite SMIM)

    []No Snow Under the Roof: BDS is somewhat not compatible with NSUTR. Users may be able to mash both mods together for placed objects like snow piles, however, buildings (farmhouses) will be duplicated if they aren't properly patched. This would result in z-fighting. Though we do not provide support for NSUTR, Axer4 has made a patch for users that can be found here.

    All our included meshes used SMIM as a starting point and improvements were made upon them. BDS should win all mesh conflicts, else the projected textures will not display as desired.

    BDS is compatible with all snow retexture mods.

    BDS requires the projecteddiffuse.
