📋 About This Mod

Argis "The Bulwark" is probably one of my favorite housecarls. True to his title, he’s built like a fortress, broad, stoic and dependable. His demeanor is reserved but respectful, he’s deeply loyal, often saying things with a heavy dose of weary patience.
Markarth itself is a city full of tension, ancient Dwemer ruins, and political shadows, so it’s fitting that your housecarl being someone who feels like a living shield, calm, strong, and silent unless called upon.

I rarely stray too far from the original vanilla design, but this time I wanted to create a more customized version of Argis for my game, making him closer in style to Bjorn Ironside and less like Triple H being the default nord in Skyrim.
I kept his signature features like the blind eye and its scar, but gave him new hair, tattoos, more expressive brows, and a better beard. And since the devil's in the details, I added some silver accessories and two silver teeth, since Markarth sits atop some of the richest silver deposits in all of Skyrim.

Body compatibility: Uses standalone body meshes and textures, to keep consistency with my other work and look exactly as intended. Maybe in future I will offer default body meshes as an optional file.
Previous replacer mods: I recommend using Save Unbaker to avoid neck seams and other issues if they were previously modified in your save.
Armor: Will use his default outfit. The armors shown in the screenshots are listed at the bottom of the mod page. In future update I will give him some optional armors via Skypatcher.
Requirements: The main file requires B. E. E. S if you are playing on an older version of Skyrim. Also requires The New Gentleman and CBPC to work correctly, and both this an

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 584 endorsements and over 36k downloads
- ESL flagged means it's light on your load order
- High Poly Head support gives Argis a more realistic look
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects Argis, so if you want overhauls for other housecarls, you'll need to grab the others in the series
- Requires High Poly Head as a dependency, which might be a hassle if you don't already use it
- As a cosmetic mod, it doesn't change gameplay or add new content
For Skyrim players who want a more realistic-looking Argis without a full NPC overhaul. It's perfect for storytellers who want their housecarl to look the part. Skip if you're not a fan of High Poly Head or if you prefer more comprehensive NPC overhauls.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have High Poly Head installed and that it loads before this mod in your load order.
- Since it's ESL flagged, you can safely add it to your load order without worrying about the 255 mod limit.
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install; it should work out of the box.
