📋 About This Mod

Apothecary Plus - An Alchemy Expansion

Apothecary Plus is an expansion of Apothecary - An Alchemy Overhaul that adds or re-implements alchemy effects and ingredients to Skyrim. Some of the new alchemy effects like Spell Absorption were previously exclusive to Creation Club or modded content, while effects such as Fire Damage are from previous Elder Scrolls games. The new ingredients added by Apothecary Plus (e.g. Draugr Wax and Wolf Eye) are available exclusively as loot from enemies and animals/creatures (i.e. not flora). In addition, all new ingredients have been distributed to loot/vendor leveled lists where appropriate. Finally, generic potions and poisons for all new effects have also been distributed to the appropriate leveled lists to ensure compatibility with Alchemy Plus.

While Apothecary Plus does not require any mods from the Simonrim Suite other than Apothecary, the effects introduced have implemented to be consistent with the entire suite. As such use of the entire Simonrim Suite is highly recommended for the intended experience.

New Potions

The magnitudes in the following list reflect the strength of a potion created by a character with 100 Alchemy and all of the Vanilla perks. Generic potions consistent with player-created potions have been distributed for all new effects.

Spell Absorption - You have a 20% chance to absorb the Magicka from incoming spells for 60 seconds

Night Eye - You can see in the dark for 60 seconds

Notes

  • []Spell Absorption and Night Eye have been implemented as short duration (60 sec) alchemy effects.

[]Ingredients with the Spell Absorption effect can only be found from limited sources in the main game with renewable sources being restricted to DLC areas.

    New Poisons

Maintains balancing standards set by the original Apothecary mod

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (21k downloads, 70 endorsements) shows it's used widely even if not heavily endorsed
  • Sticks to the original mod's balance philosophy, so it won't turn alchemy into a god-mode skill
  • Fills a real gap for alchemy enthusiasts who've exhausted vanilla options

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires the original Apothecary mod as a base, so it's not standalone
  • Low endorsement count (70) compared to downloads suggests it might not be as polished or popular as other alchemy overhauls
  • Potential compatibility issues with other mods that alter alchemy effects or ingredients
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who already use Apothecary and want more alchemical variety without breaking balance. If you're looking for a standalone alchemy overhaul or major gameplay changes, this isn't it—it's a pure expansion.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute
