Alternate Start - A New Dragonborn Extension

Start the game in High Hrothgar, having retrieved the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller and been formally greeted as Dragonborn by the Greybeards. You are Thane of Whiterun, and can purchase housing in that City.

You begin with all three words of Unrelenting Force and the first word of Whirlwind Sprint, a small amount of gold and a set of basic equipment. Bleak Falls Barrow and Ustengrav exist as though untouched, meaning that The Golden Claw has not been completed, and you will need to visit Ustengrav to obtain the word of Become Etheral found there.

Random dragon attacks will not occur until after you have killed Sahloknir in A Blade in the Dark.

• []I recommend waiting until after all scripts have finished executing before heading off on your adventure as it has quite a few to run through. You will know that all scripts have finished once you are wearing your armor.

  []Approaching the word wall in Bleak Falls Barrow will work as usual, but obviously won't teach you any new words.

  Compatibility:

  • []For those using Enai Siaion's Thunderchild, the quest Acolyte of the Voice will trigger after you appear in High Hrothgar and you will be given the Phantom Decoy shout as usual.

    []Any mod added replacements for the Axe of Whiterun should be added correctly.

    []As with all alternate starts, if you are using z4x's Experience mod, you should disable that mod until you are in the game proper, as otherwise you will earn enough experience for multiple levels. Not game breaking by any means, but something to be aware of.

    Potential bugs:

    • []For some reason (I think maybe too many scripts running at once) you may not have all shouts properly added to your character. If this happens, either reload and try again, or you can progress A Blade in the Dark by renting the attic room in Riverwood, which will attempt to add these shouts again.
