OPEN BETA RELEASE

 - This release should be considered a beta release (I need feedback). Some late-stage features (marriage) are not implemented yet, and some features may be buggy/missing voice files. Your issues and suggestions are very welcome in the Discussion forum. That said, I can't help with load order concerns, or mod compatibility at this time. I'm looking for things like "I want to know this about her," "I want to ask her about that" - and silly things like typos, or dialogue that doesn't appear to work. I'm doing a lot of testing myself, but I don't want to do it in a silo, and encouragement is always desirable, if you love it and want more!

Alenawe is a newly posted field agent, political analyst, and trained mage. She is not in Skyrim because she wants to become an adventurer. She is here for her first posting after education. Then something walked out of Helgen that could not be comfortably explained, and an opportunity presented itself.

Allowing her to travel with you simply gives her a better view.

She begins formal, guarded, with a believable background job. She has her own loyalties, ambitions, conclusions, and limits. She may come to respect you. She may become your friend. An optional romance and marriage path exists - but none of those outcomes are guaranteed, and she will not abandon her judgment merely because the player is important.

Story Preview

Alenawe has been trained to believe that good institutions are slow, exact, and necessary. Skyrim is none of those things.

Yet its crude systems repeatedly identify capable people, survive impossible crises, and grant authority to individuals who have never been properly classified. Most troublingly, the Dragonborn continues to solve problems without waiting for permission - and people continue to follow.

Her reports begin as an attempt to make that pattern legible.

The pattern does not cooperate.

Her personal story concerns institutional loyalty, conditional worth, and what happens when a person trained to be exceptional begins to suspect she was never meant to become an exception. The player influences the conditions under which she changes, but does not simply select her fate from a dialogue menu.

Character Notes

Alenawe is controlled, not emotionless.

She is intensely curious, politically literate, dryly funny, and accustomed to treating uncertainty as a problem to be classified. She respects competence, but competence alone will not earn her trust. She notices restraint, consistency, needless disruption, and whether the player's stated principles resemble their actual behavior.

She is not a conventional morality companion. Joining a criminal faction will not automatically offend her (although she will have opinions, and flagrant disregard for the social contract will put her off), and behaving heroically will not automatically reassure her. She is more interested in whether you exercise power deliberately - and in how much damage the world sustains whenever you act.

She is also not secretly waiting to become agreeable. Greater trust gives the player access to more of her reasoning; it does not replace her worldview with theirs.
