"We cannot get out. Wave after wave of Daedra are overwhelming tower guards as I write. Our archers and wizards fight bravely with fire and arrow, but there are too many foes and they feel neither pain nor fear. Desperate fools turn to ancient tomes of necromancy and conjuration, as though any summoned being can turn the tide now! Cirdur, a promising young acolyte recites incantations from an ebony tome, while his fellow student argues with an elder mage. Fools and simpletons! Few have the raw power or ability to call forth the Daughter of the Void! Fewer still survive to tell the tale. Even so, death at the hands of Kharon's Maiden may be more merciful than a Daedra blade.

They breached the lower halls. Our doom marches unrelenting over the screams of our remaining defenders. A rhythmic thrumming now emanates from the ebony tome, as if invisible warriors are bashing their hilts upon otherworldly shields. I will set my quill aside to assist my brothers and sisters in our final stand. Perhaps, with my guidance, we can prevent young Cirdur from destroying the entire Crystal Tower! If the Dark Valkyrie doesn't kill us, the Daedra surely will."

• []Location: You can find Aeris' summoning tome in an unearthed burial urn under the ruined shrine next to Riverwood's bridge. There are also rumors that she frequents the Riverwood tavern while in disguise.
