Absurdly High Resolution Argonians

This mod absolutely is NOT meant for those with lower end computer hardware. These files are massive and will eat up a sizeable chunk of your VRAM.

AHR Argonians, or just "AHRA", is a mod I decided to make because I almost always play as an argonian when playing this game but despite almost 11 years passing since this game was made it seems nobody has made a proper high resolution set of textures for the argonians. So I just said "Alright, guess I'll do it myself then." The end result is this mod. The textures are 4K-8K. I try my best to squeeze in as much detail as I can but if I can be bluntly honest the UV setups for the argonians are just really not good. They have a lot of decent detail but they lose a TON of small detail in the regular game because they were clearly textured at a much higher resolution standard and then extremely squished for the final game down to a resolution where a lot of the artist's original detail was lost. This mod aims to restore as much small detail as possible, making small things such as the crevices between the larger scales of an argonian's face being very defined or trying to ensure as much of the individual scale details along the body are clearly visible while still keeping the hard lighting/alligator style of Skyrim's argonians present in an extremely high resolution, creating a level of detail you'd expect from VR titles.

These textures were made by painstakingly upscaling the vanilla textures & manually cleaning them & repainting small details afterwards over the course of several days. Like all upscales they aren't perfect but they're definitely a massive improvement. For those interested in the technical side, I use ESRGAN with way too many models to list, some of them are custom made but most of them are not. I ensured all models used only used public domain imagery, and custom upscaling models were made with my own photographs.
