  "Tales mention Water Hags disguised as lost old women to lure travelers into the rickety shacks they build in the swamps. Their wrinkled wart-covered bodies are nearly six feet tall when erect, and they smell of mud and fish. Two-span-long bone tumors protrude from their back, with hair like a tangle of seaweed, and gaunty hands with sharp claws. However, how one could mistake one of these hideous aberrations for a poor old lost woman is only explainable in light of severe drunkenness on the part of the good samaritans involved.
