📋 About This Mod
Description
This mod removes or reduces the sun damage effect (Health, Stamina, Magicka + Damage to Regeneration Rate) applied to all vampires when wearing any type of head gear (Hoods, Helmets, Cloaks, ect).
Details
- []Removes/Reduces Level 1-4 'Weakness to Sunlight' (Health, Stamina, and Magicka + Regen) damage from all vampires when your character or NPC is wearing any type of helmet, hood, cloak, ect..[/]
I have included several versions...
VAMPIRE NO SUN DAMAGE: (Skyrim + Dawnguard) Removes all penalties to Health Magicka & Stamina caused by the 'Weakness to Sunlight' effect (Damage to Regeneration Rate + Damage to Stats) while your hood/helmet is equipped.
VAMPIRE NO SUN DAMAGE - REGEN: (Skyrim + Dawnguard) This version permanently removes the Health Magicka & Stamina Regeneration Rate Damage from the 'Weakness to Sunlight' effect, regardless if your hood/helmet is equipped or not. Sun damage will only alter your stats.
VAMPIRE NO SUN DAMAGE - REDUCED: Reduces all penalties to Health Magicka & Stamina caused by the 'Weakness to Sunlight' effect (Damage to Regeneration Rate + Damage to Stats) by 50% while your hood/helmet is equipped.
You only need to install 1 of the main files.
Update
1. 3 Added all Skyrim hooded robes.
1. 2 Released 'REDUCED' version which reduces damage by 50% when wearing hood, helmet, or cloak.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust with 7,270 endorsements and 175k downloads.
- Solves a common annoyance for vampire players who want to wear helmets without penalty.
- Lightweight and focused—does exactly what it says with no bloat.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2013—may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim Special Edition or Anniversary Edition without patches.
- No detailed instructions or compatibility notes provided by the author.
- Only affects headgear; other sun damage sources remain unchanged.
For Skyrim players who enjoy vampire roleplay but hate the sun damage penalty when wearing helmets or hoods. If you're a stealth archer vampire who wants to wear a hood without dying, this is for you. Skip if you want a more comprehensive vampire overhaul—this only touches headgear.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're on Skyrim Special Edition, check if the mod has been ported or use a compatibility patch—the original is for Oldrim.
- Make sure to load this mod after any other vampire overhauls to ensure the sun damage changes apply.
- Test with a vampire character in daylight to confirm the effect works before relying on it.
