📋 About This Mod
This mod is my recreation of an Albion Viceroy in Skyrim. Like many of my other weapons, the sword can be converted from two-hander to a one-hander (and back) at any forge.
The sword can be found inside Fort Snowhawk, on top of one of the tables.
The model is relatively low-poly: the sword has 984 polys, the scabbard has 1140 polys and the blood has 60 polys.
There are three textures sizes: 1K, 3K and 6K. I would recommend the 3K version for normal gameplay, as it's a good balance between quality and performance. The 1K version has the best performance, but the textures are a bit blurrier. The 6K version is the best quality, but it will drain your performance (sword normal map is 42MB!), especially when you first equip it.
There are also 4 different cubemaps to choose from: the default cubemap (which is, funnily enough, the default), the sharp cubemap, the soft cubemap, and the alternate cubemap.
Compatibility
This mod should be compatible with everything.
There is a Dual Sheath Redux patch in the optional files.
Installation
Copy the contents of archive to your Skyrim\Data folder. Activate the .esp in the Skyrim launcher. That's it! Alternatively, you can download with NMM and activate it through that.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 1,006 endorsements — clearly a well-liked weapon mod.
- 62,534 downloads show it's been widely used and tested.
- Standalone means you can drop it in without compatibility headaches.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2016 — might not be patched for the latest Skyrim versions or AE.
- Description is minimal — no info on stats, crafting, or location.
- No screenshots or videos in the description, so you're flying blind on visuals.
For Skyrim players who want a realistic, historically inspired sword without messing with complex mods. If you're a collector of standalone weapons or a fan of Billyro's work, this is a no-brainer. Skip if you need detailed stats or modern updates — this is a simple, old-school weapon mod.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a standalone weapon, you can install it manually by dropping the files into your Data folder, but using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 is safer for easy uninstalling.
- Check the mod's file page for any patches or compatibility notes, as it's from 2016 and may need a re-save with the Creation Kit if you're on the latest Skyrim version.
- If you can't find the sword in-game, use the console command 'help viceroy' to locate its ID, then 'player.additem' to spawn it.
