Spellmaking, a lost art of Tamriel At the dawn of the 4th era, a silent purging took place; the altars and knowledge of spellmaking throughout the land, vanished. No one knows how or why, and the study of magic itself has limped on through Tamriel ever since. But legends tell of the existence of the Last Altar, seemingly untouched by the silent purge.

Now the Dovakiin, newly appointed as Archmage of the College of Winterhold, must piece together the clues of the third Era, unlock the mysteries of the Altar's location, and unravel a conspiracy 200 years in the making, to control the fate of Magic throughout Nirn.
