📋 About This Mod
Inhabitants of Skyrim Character Presets
Some of my favorite mods
Description
The main files are replacing the presets in the character creation menu. There is 3 files to choose from, one with both genders together and the other 2 files as a separate download (only choose one). Altogether, this mod is replacing a total of 180 presets, 9 races from both genders. There's no way to make an argonian look "pretty" so it's the only race I did not modify. Some characters might look alike sometimes but one thing you won't find in this mod is 2 presets with the same set of eyes, nose and mouth. At least not within the same race. I didn't add many scars and warpaints, I thought I would leave you the pleasure of making your character your own.
The 8 optional files are Saved Games, right outside of Helgen Keep at level 1. Refer to the "Saved Games" screenshot to choose a character.
I also included in the miscellaneous files, a Saved Game that skips the intro, if you'd rather start right before the character creation menu opens.

Recommended Mods
None of the following mods are required for my presets to fonction properly but they really improve how the characters look. And of course "Inhabitants of Skyrim" is compatible with any other hair or texture mods out there.
If you want your male character to look like the ones in the screenshots and the video, you will need to download and install the following mods.
- Better males - Beautiful nudes and faces uploaded by Chris57
- (I used the "Sundracon Meshes" for the body and the "YoungerFacesMergedWithMenByGeonox" textures for the face).
- Full Bald Hair uploaded by Galika (only necessary if you want to play a fully bald character).
- High Quality Eyes
This mod replaces all character creation presets in Skyrim with new ones, except for the Argonian race. It's a simple cosmetic overhaul for players who want fresh faces at character creation. With 6,488 endorsements and 167,733 downloads, it's a popular choice despite its age.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust (6,488 endorsements) — this mod has been around and people still use it.
- Massive download count (167,733) shows it's a go-to for character variety.
- Lightweight and straightforward — just replaces presets, no scripts or heavy assets.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2012 — likely outdated for current Skyrim versions, may need compatibility patches.
- Doesn't touch Argonians, so if you play one you get nothing.
- No screenshots or detailed previews in the description, so you're going in blind.
For Skyrim players who are tired of the same old faces at character creation and want a quick refresh without adding new races or overhauls. Perfect for those who value community-tested mods with a long track record. Skip if you're an Argonian main or want more extensive character customization options.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod is from 2012, check if you're using Skyrim Special Edition — you may need to convert the mod or find an updated version.
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2, install it through that to keep your load order clean.
- Test the presets by starting a new game — you'll see the changes immediately in the character creation menu.
