Description: This is an update, with permission of the original author, for one of my favourite mods: DFB - Random Encounters.
This mod adds 230 new spawn points into the wilderness of Skyrim. DFB uses a completely separate spawning system and is pretty much compatible with everything. The mod is fully customizable. The spawn type, amount and difficulty can be altered to fit all playstyles.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge popularity with over 112k downloads and 5k endorsements — clearly a community favorite.
- Lightweight spawning mod means it won't bog down your game like some heavy encounter overhauls.
- MCM support gives you granular control over spawns without needing to mess with console commands.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2014 — likely outdated and may have compatibility issues with newer Skyrim versions or DLC.
- Requires SkyUI and MCM to use the configuration menu, which might be a hurdle for some players.
For Skyrim players who want to spice up their travels with random encounters but keep full control over the spawns. Perfect for modders who love tweaking settings via MCM. Skip if you prefer a more hands-off encounter mod or play on a version of Skyrim that's not compatible with older mods.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have SkyUI and MCM installed first, as this mod relies on them for configuration.
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2 to handle installation and load order easily.
- Check the mod's compatibility with your Skyrim version (Oldrim vs Special Edition) before installing.
