"looks great! endorsed."

"Ah this is so nice! I can now walk past a farm and see a good-looking cow in the yard. Thanks!"
Vanilla Cows look awful on low, medium, high and ultra high settings. This mod fixes that. Using my own textures I have given the cows a cleaner, less pixelated look. This mod re-textures both the standard cow and the painted one. This mod works well with Hearth fire. Also. If you like my cows you should consider using my mod Highland Milk Farm that allows you to milk all cows :)

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 1,656 endorsements and 23,000+ downloads
- High-res textures make cows look noticeably better without changing gameplay
- Simple drop-in texture replacer—no compatibility headaches with other mods
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2012—may not be optimized for the latest Skyrim version or DLC
- Only covers two cow types, so other animals remain untouched
- No screenshots or detailed install instructions in the description
For Skyrim players who want a quick visual upgrade for cows without overhauling the whole game. If you're a screenshot enthusiast or just tired of blurry livestock, this is a solid pick. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or more comprehensive animal retextures.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Place the textures folder into your Skyrim Data directory, or use a mod manager for easier uninstallation.
- Since it's a texture replacer, load order doesn't matter—just make sure no other mod overwrites the same cow textures.
- If you're using Skyrim Special Edition, you may need to convert the textures to the new format, but they should work with a simple copy-paste.
