📋 About This Mod
Addon for Weapons and Armors Attributes - Detailed Descriptions
For use with Version 4. 1 or 4. 2
By EvanBGood
This is a simple addon file for the mod Weapons and Armors Attributes by Alex9ndre. I really liked this mod once I started using it, but I ran into a problem: there are a LOT of effects to remember! In game, you can get a rough idea of what your current equipment is doing to your character, but the descriptions are "In character", meaning they don't tell you specifically what's being changed like a vanilla effect does. So, I found myself going back to the mod page repeatedly while playing to find the exact information. This mod simply replaces the default descriptions with the information from the WAA's mod page. For example, when wearing Ebony armor, you'll get this effect:
"The strength of Ebony makes the wearer strongly resistant to staggering while being attacked."
And when Detailed Descriptions is activated, you'll see this instead:
"+10 fire resist (per piece), -10% shock resist (per piece), Set Bonus: 50% chance to negate stagger, 60 skill required"
This will show specific values and descriptions for:
-
[]Changes to resistance (armor, fire, shock, frost, poison, disease, etc.)
[
]Changes to health, magicka, or stamina.[]Changes to skills such as speechcraft.
[]Changes to weapon damage and weapon speed
[]Any armor set bonuses
[]Any special weapon abilities.
[]Effects for not using items, such as Duelist, Sword & Board, and the buffs for unarmored body/hands/feet/head.
[]Skill requirements to avoid the "Unqualified" debuff. *Note that this will not list the skill name itself due to the fact that the same effect may apply to multiple different armor or weapon types, but it should be obvious based on what you've equipped that gave you the effect (archery for a bow, light armor for light armor, etc).
However, there are a few things that can't be described that you should be aware of:
This addon modifies the active effect descriptions from the Weapons and Armors Attributes mod to display specific numerical values instead of general text. It's a small utility for players who want precise stat information at a glance. With 125 endorsements and last updated in 2016, it's a niche but appreciated tweak.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 125 endorsements—players found it useful.
- Gives you exact numbers, so you know precisely what your gear does.
- Tiny addon that doesn't bloat your load order.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2016—might not work with newer game versions or the latest WAA updates.
- Requires the base mod, so it's useless without it.
For players who use Weapons and Armors Attributes and want to see exact stat numbers instead of vague descriptions. If you're a min-maxer or just like knowing the math behind your gear, this is for you. Skip if you don't use the base mod or prefer general flavor text.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the base mod installed first, or this addon won't do anything.
- Place the file in your Data folder and enable it in your mod manager, just like any other mod.
- If you're on a mod manager, check the load order—this addon should load after the base mod.
