Universal BepInEx Installer (GUI and CLI)

This installer is based on aedenthorn's BepInEx Unity Installer but heavily reworked to add more functionality and Linux support.

For Steam Games it also automatically configures Proton to work with BepInEx correctly.

This version can also install to IL2CPP games, everything is automatically detected.

  Usage GUI-Version:

  • []Download the file with GUI at the End[/]

    []Extract the .zip folder[/]

    []Doubleclick the executable[/]

    Usage CLI-Version:

      []Extract the .zip folder[/]

      []Use the Terminal to execute commands as seen below[/]

      GUI Installation:

      • []Select Game[/]

        []Select Plugins.zip file when checking Install Plugins[/]

        Troubleshooting

        If the Plugins.zip file isn't selectable you might need to place it in a different location, especially NOT in a OneDrive folder. To be safe you can usually place at the same Location as the BepInExInstaller.

        CLI - Installation using Name (Steam games):

        Linux:

        • []Download BepInExInstaller.zip[/]

          []Unpack BepInExInstaller.zip[/]

          []Make the Executable runnable (chmod +x BepInExInstaller)[/]

          []run the Executable using

          ./BepInExInstaller -n "Game Name"[/]

          (Replace Game Name with the Game you want to install BepInEx to, for Example ./BepInExInstaller -n 'Fallout Shelter')

        Follow along with what the Installer asks you to install BepInEx and let it configure Proton correctly

        Windows:

        • []Download BepInExInstaller.exe[/]

          []open CMD or Powershell in the folder where you saved BepInExInstaller.exe[/]

          [] in CMD or Powershell run:[/]

          []BepInExInstaller.exe -n "Game Name"

          Options (for both):

          - Install verbose into Game with enabling the console and installing plugins from "plugins.zip" (Recommended)

          BepInExInstaller.exe -n "Game Name" -v -c -i "plugins.zip" - Install verbose into Game with plugins

          BepInExInstaller.exe -n "Game Name" -v -i "plugins.zip"

          CLI - Installation by placing Executable:

          • []Download into the Game's Folder[/]

            []Linux: Unpack .zip and make Executable (chmod +x BepInExInstaller)[/]

            []Linux: run the Executable using

            ./BepInExInstaller

            Windows: doubleclick .exe file[/]

            []Follow along in the terminal to install BepInEx[/]

            Misc / Disclaimers

            Yes it is a rather large executable. This is because it is standalone and it doesn't require anything to be installed, just run the Installer go with it. You do not need to install any Runtime or anything else. With it being a GUI, the Images and Textures also add to it's size.

            The Installer doesn't install to your System itself, the only thing that gets saved are some Settings you can change in the Settings Tab, so it persists when you close the Installer and open it again.

            (Installing BepInEx obviously installs the required Files to the game)
