📋 About This Mod
A compact dark theme with a bold green accent system, built for aging eyes and night owls.
Radioactive - MO2 Theme
A dark theme for Mod Organizer 2 with a high-contrast green accent system.
I made this for myself. I am old, my eyes are bad, and grey text on a dark grey background is not a vibe I am willing to tolerate while managing hundreds of mods. Every other dark theme I tried, while great for most people, just wasn't quite what I was looking for, so I built my own.
What it looks like
-
[]Near-black background with clearly separated panels[/]
[]Bright green (#7cb342) accent on selected rows, active tabs, borders, and status text[/]
[]Alternate row striping so you can actually track across a long mod list[/]
[]Left-side green accent bar on selected and hovered rows[/]
[]Slim 8px scrollbars that stay out of the way[/]
[]Green underline on the active tab[/]
[]Compact row height so more mods fit on screen without scrolling[/]
Variants
Two versions are included. Pick whichever suits you in MO2 Settings - Theme.
-
[]Radioactive - compact, 16px rows, built for high mod counts and smaller displays[/]
[]Radioactive Large - same look, bigger text and 20px rows, easier on the eyes[/]
Splash Screen
A custom splash screen is included (splash.png). Drop it into your MO2 root folder alongside ModOrganizer.exe to replace the default one. Totally optional.
Font
Uses Inter Medium (open source, SIL Open Font License). Chosen specifically for maximum readability at small sizes. Install the included font before launching MO2 or it will fall back to Segoe UI.
Font files are in the Fonts folder. Right-click and select "Install for all users."
Installation
-
[]Install the font from the Fonts folder (right-click, Install for all users)[/]
[]Drop the stylesheets folder into your MO2 root directory[/]
[]Optionally drop splash.png into your MO2 root directory[/]
[]Open MO2, go to Settings, select Radioactive or Radioactive Large from the Theme dropdown[/]
[]Restart MO2[/]
Your MO2 root is wherever ModOrganizer.exe lives.
Compatibility
Built and tested on MO2 2. 5. 2 ML1. 5. Should work on standard MO2 2. 5.x builds. Some category separator row colors are painted internally by MO2 and are not controlled by this theme.
Known Limitations
-
[]The executable selector combobox (top-left, showing your current launch target) does not show a green border at rest. This is a MO2 limitation where it applies its own inline stylesheet that overrides the theme. Hover state works fine.[/]
[]Category separator row background colors (the colored group headers in the mod list) are painted by MO2 internally and cannot be changed by QSS themes.[/]
License
Theme and assets are free to use, modify, and redistribute. Inter font is under the SIL Open Font License.
