📦 MO2 Mod Importer — Guide

🟢 What Is This?

MO2 Mod Importer is a Mod Organizer 2 plugin designed to help you transfer mods from one MO2 setup to another.

It lets you select a source MO2 folder, load mods from a chosen profile, and drag selected mods into the exact position you want in your current mod list.

The plugin doesn’t just copy mods — it inserts them precisely where you drop them, preserving your intended load order and structure.

🟢 Quick Start

1️⃣ Launch the Plugin

Open MO2 → Tools → Import Mods from MO2

2️⃣ Select Source

• Click Browse... and choose the folder of the source MO2 setup

• The plugin automatically locates the modorganizer.ini file and reads the setup configuration

• It loads the mod list and profiles just like MO2 itself does

• After selecting a profile from the dropdown, all mods from that setup will appear in the right-hand list

3️⃣ Position Mods

• Select desired mods in the right-hand list (use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click)

• Drag them into the left-hand list at the position you want

• Mods will appear in green, exactly where you dropped them

4️⃣ Adjust Positions (Optional)

• You can rearrange the green mods within the left-hand list

• Use the Clear All Placements button to reset all assignments

5️⃣ Import

• ✅ Enable Create backup (recommended!)

• Click Import Positioned Mods

• Wait for the process to complete — a progress bar will show the status

⚠️ Important Notes

• Backup is created before copying — safe to cancel anytime

• Mods are copied with all metadata: screenshots, notes, settings

• Plugin load order (.esp files) must be adjusted manually in MO2

• After import, refresh MO2 (F5) if needed

🔧 Backup Restoration

• Click Restore Backup → choose a backup from the list

• Your current profile will be saved automatically before restoring
