📋 About This Mod

An MO2 plugin for exporting mod lists and dependencies and overwrites reports for MO2, to make the life of mod users and mod creators easy.

Export your installed mods to Excel or JSON, with one row or record per mod. The report keeps plugin requirements, priorities, file conflicts and source links together so you can share them when asking for help.

Requirements

Mod Organiser 2. 5.x

Installation

  • []Close MO2.[/]

    []Open the download. [/]

[]Copy mo2_modlist_exporter from its plugins folder into the plugins folder beside ModOrganizer.exe.[/]

[]Start MO2 and open Tools → MO2 Modlist Exporter. Choose JSON or Excel, click Export and select a save location.[/]

What the report includes

There are too many things in version 2 to include, and the images are from the old version. I can't fit them in a single image.

  • []Export your MO2 modlist to a spreadsheet covering mod priorities, separator groups, plugins, required masters and source links. Filters and colour-coded cells make it easier to review enabled or disabled content, missing requirements and loose-file conflicts—including which mods overwrite others. The report also shows the game application version supplied by MO2 and Root Builder packaging information when available, without Skyrim/SKSE checks.[/]

[]The spreadsheet is the intended format for analysing and sharing a modlist. You can export directly to Excel or share a portable JSON report that the recipient can convert to Excel without having your modlist installed. Alternatively, upload the Excel file to Google Sheets and share a link with viewing permissions enabled so others can review it in their browser.[/]

[]This is a reporting tool, not a compatibility checker. Conflicts cover loose files, not plugin records or archive contents, and Root Builder packaging does not confirm deployment. The General edition is not a guarantee of support for every game or plugin format.[/]

How to convert a shared report to Excel

I have tested, and the Excel file works flawlessly when uploaded to Google Sheets, which is a free service.

    • []Ask the user to paste the full contents of their exported JSON report into Pastebin or wherever.[/]

[]Paste the contents into something like VS Code, Notepad, Notepad++, etc and save it as .json[/]

[]Open MO2 Modlist Exporter and click Convert JSON to Excel.[/]

[]Select the saved .json file and choose where to save it as an .xlsx (xlsx is the default)  .xlsx[/]

[]Open the workbook in Excel to read, search and filter the report.[/]

You don’t need their mods installed. Conversion uses their report without scanning or changing your own modlist.

    Reading the report

    • []A bracketed plugin number such as is right-pane priority, not hexadecimal Mod Index. means left-pane priority. Unknown positions are not invented.[/]

[]Enabled and disabled mods are included. Separators and backups are excluded. Mods without plugins still get a row, as does nonempty Overwrite. A missing/disabled warning can come from a disabled mod or an overridden plugin copy; it is not automatically a game-breaking problem.[/]

[]Each conflict direction lists up to 10 distinct mods. More than 10 shows only Too many overrides. Verified official content is excluded from those lists and counts, and its own conflict fields show Excluded — Official content. Official masters still appear under Requires.[/]

[]An empty conflict direction is None in Excel or [] in JSON. JSON conflict fields use strings for overflow, exclusion or unresolved-origin messages rather than arrays. Unresolved origins are reported as Unavailable — Unresolved file origins, not as no conflicts.[/]

      Limits

      • []These are MO2 file conflicts, not plugin-record overrides. Archive conflicts appear only when MO2 exposes them in its current virtual tree. The exporter does not independently scan BSAs or list individual conflicting files.[/]

[]Root dependencies are informational. It does not verify SKSE installation, DLL loading, version compatibility or requirements listed only on mod pages. An empty Requires cell means no declared plugin masters were found, not that the mod has no requirements.[/]

[]The report is a starting point for troubleshooting. Mod authors may still need logs, versions and steps to reproduce a problem. Review it before sharing: mod names and stored URLs may contain private information.[/]

        Behaviour and troubleshooting

[*]The tool does not sort your load order, enable or disable mods, edit profile files, download files or upload reports. It writes the report you c
