Mod Setup Tool

This tool is designed to be used with Wabbajack mod lists, or any mod list setup that requires the user to perform post-setup steps themselves. It can be configured to help the user navigate these steps and perform them automatically.

The setup tool can allow users to run applications or scripts and move/copy/delete files, alongside markdown instructions for any steps that require their input.

The tool also contains an optional Mod Organizer plugin to prevent the user from running Mod Organizer without first completing the setup process.

Configuration consists of a collection of steps, each step displays instructions and supports markdown. Steps can be optionally skippable, or feature Yes/No options.

Each step can contain actions, when the user clicks 'Continue' (or Yes/No), the appropriate list of actions are executed in order. Action types include;

- Restart setup as an administrator.

- Move to a specific step.

- Run an application/script (with optional params).

- Move/Copy/Delete files or folders.

This page also hosts a small number of install scripts for different tools (MWSE, OpenMW, and Delta Plugin) that can't easily be installed/managed by Wabbajack, which can be installed as mods, and then the scripts can be run during post-setup to install the appropriate tool.

Old Wabbajack Post-Setup Tool Instructions

For those using the Wabbajack Post-Setup tool found in Old Files, these are the original instructions.

These instructions DO NOT work with the new Mod Setup tool.

To use the tool;

• []Download it with Mod Organizer to get the meta file so that Wabbajack can install it for you (or use the meta file provided in downloads).

  []Extract the executable to the Mod Organizer directory.

  []Configure SetupSteps.json to cover all your post-installation steps.

  []When building your Wabbajack modlist, make sure to include the SetupSteps.json file.

  []Instruct users to run the executable and follow the instructions before launching Mod Organizer.

• []Title = the title for the current step.

  []Description = The description or user instructions for the current step.

  []ApplicationPath = The path to an application to run, if applicable. (this can be used to run batch files too)

  []ApplicationArgs = List of command line arguments for the application being run, if applicable.

  []SourcePath = The source path for any copy actions, if empty, a folder or file dialog will be shown.

  []TargetPath = The destination path for any copy or delete actions, if applicable.

  []StepType = The type of step, see below for options.

  []DelaySeconds = The number of seconds this step should be visible before the continue button is enabled.

  []Wait = true or false depending on whether this step should wait for any application to close before continuing.
