📋 About This Mod
GyroLib is a controller gyro SDK for game mods, with per-view profiles, customizable activation, flick stick, calibration and in-game settings.
GyroLib is a controller gyro SDK that helps mod developers integrate motion controls into games. It provides a ready-to-use library for controller input, gyro processing, calibration and settings, alongside an API, documentation and examples. Each mod connects GyroLib to the game’s cameras, cursors and gameplay states.
GyroLib is a dependency for compatible mods. Installing the DLL alone does not enable gyro in a game. A standalone demo is available to try its features.
Gyro controls
-
[]Independent X/Y sensitivity and inversion.[/]
[]Nine gyro spaces, including Player Space, World Space, local-axis modes, Lean modes and Laser Pointer.[/]
[]Always-on, hold-to-enable, hold-to-disable and toggle activation.[/]
[]Configurable activators: buttons, triggers, touchpads, capacitive stick sensors, grip sensors and analog stick deflection, where available.[/]
[]Smoothing and small-movement stabilization to reduce unwanted motion.[/]
[]Acceleration presets and custom curves to combine precise aiming with faster turns.[/]
[]Temporary inversion and gyro trackball options for hold-to-disable.[/]
[]Manual calibration with a five-second countdown, plus automatic calibration with stillness detection.[/]
Flick stick and touchpad
Use a stick, a supported touchpad, or either input to turn the camera. Adjust pivot duration, direction assistance, activation thresholds and rotation smoothing. Pivot-only and rotation-only behaviors are also available.
Flick controls are offered for camera views, while cursor views use their own gyro settings.
Settings for each view
Mods can define separate profiles for exploration, weapon aiming, scoped aiming, inventory cursors or other gameplay views. The game selects the active profile automatically.
Each view can have independent settings or inherit them from another view. Individual settings can be overridden without breaking the remaining inheritance. Mods can also provide a recommended preset.
Camera recentering and sensitivity scaling with field of view are available when the mod supplies the required camera information and callbacks.
In-game configuration
GyroLib includes a settings panel with English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese text. It scales automatically for the display and supports keyboard, mouse and controller navigation.
By default, open the panel with F10 or the controller’s Back + Start equivalent. These shortcuts can be changed or disabled. Mods can also use the same settings model to build a native game menu.
Changes are saved automatically to gyrolib.ini, beside gyrolib.dll.
Controller support
GyroLib uses the controls and sensors actually exposed by the connected controller. Settings adapt to available capabilities, and controller disconnection, reconnection and replacement are handled automatically.
SDL is the preferred gyro source. An optional Steam Input fallback can be used when SDL motion is unavailable and the host provides an initialized Steam Input service. GyroLib selects one motion source rather than adding both together.
Available controls and features depend on the controller, connection method and game integration.
For mod developers
Use the official gyrolib.dll directly, there is no need to build a separate copy for each mod. The SDK provides a C API, a C++ wrapper, headers, CMake integration, documentation and examples. Static builds are also available from source.
The mod registers its camera and cursor views, reports gameplay states and applies GyroLib’s output. Features such as native stick suppression, short-press action filtering, recentering and panel rendering require their corresponding integration hooks.
GyroLib observes the game’s aiming commands. It does not trigger aiming or install game hooks automatically.
