Tutorial – How to Use the Modified AMD Driver to Unlock FSR4This tutorial explains how to properly install and use my modified AMD driver.

It works with AMD 5000, 6000, and 7000 series GPUs.

The driver is based on the official AMD release, only with a small modification to unlock FSR4 on older GPUs.

I will post here the test videos of my community.

📥 Step 1 – Download the Correct Driver

• []Choose the driver version according to your GPU series (5000, 6000, or 7000).

  []Download the modified driver file.

  []download the version of FSR you want to test.

  For some games that do not have FSR3. 1 to just change the DLL, you will need Optiscaler to use the new DLL (GTX is mandatory). click here to download Optiscaler and here to see the tutorial on how to apply it correctly in games and how to unlock the driver.

📂 Step 2 – Extract and Install

• []Extract the file you just downloaded.

  []Run Setup.exe.

  []The installer will start normally, just like the official AMD driver.

  []It will update or repair your current AMD driver.

  []After installation, your GPU will now have FSR4 unlocked.

  ⚠️ Step 3 – Prevent Automatic UpdatesTo avoid AMD or Windows from silently replacing the modified driver in the background:
  • []Disable AMD automatic driver updates.

    []Disable Windows Update automatic driver installation.

    []Uninstall AMD Driver Management / Installer tools (I’ll provide screenshots of the exact options you need to remove).

  👉 This step is crucial because background updates can overwrite the modded driver without warning.

  🎮 Step 4 – Using FSR4 in Games
  • []Once the modified driver is installed, download the official FSR4 runtime files from AMD’s website (free and open-source).

    []Place the FSR4 files in your game’s root folder (where the executable is located).

    []Launch your game → Configure the graphics menu to use FSR.

    []Enjoy the benefits of FSR4 even on older AMD GPUs.

  💡 Note: Some games will work perfectly with this setup, while others may not support it properly. I’ll provide separate tutorials and examples for specific games.

  🔧 Step 5 – Troubleshooting & Removal
  • []If you face issues, please leave a comment so I can understand what happened.

    []This is a single, safe installation, so normally you should not experience problems.

    []If you decide you no longer want to use this modified driver:

    []Simply download the official driver from AMD’s website.

    []Install it, and everything will return to default/original state.
