Browse, search, and analyze the FOMOD+ database directly from Mod Organizer 2

What is this?

A Mod Organizer 2 plugin that reads the fomod.db file generated by FOMOD Plus - A Mod Installation Overhaul for Mod Organizer 2 and displays all known FOMOD mods and their options in a searchable, collapsible web interface with three specialized tabs.

Only tested with Skyrim AE; it might work for other games that use FOMOD Plus - A Mod Installation Overhaul for Mod Organizer 2.

1. Browse Mods

• []Three search boxes: Mod name, Required .esp/.esm (extension-insensitive), and Patch/option name — all AND-combined[/]

  []Colored master filenames — each .esp/.esm requirement is green (active) or red (not active)[/]

  []Filters by selection state and type pattern (Required / Recommended / Optional / NotUsable)[/]

  []Sort dropdown: Name A-Z / Z-A / Most options / Fewest options[/]

  []Expand All expands all levels (mods + steps + groups)[/]

  []Stats header with mod count, total options, breakdown by state, DB size[/]

  []Clickable Nexus Mods links on every mod with a valid Nexus ID[/]

  2. Dependency Analyzer

  • []Unified view — all options with masters shown in one list, each with a status icon:

    []Red X = missing masters (can't use the option)[/]

    []Green check = selected + all masters active (already applied)[/]

    []Orange warning = not selected + all masters active (reinstall to apply)[/]

  []Status filter: All / Only missing / Only applied / Only available to apply[/]

  []Comment filter: All / Only with comments / Only without comments[/]

  []User comments — double-click any option name to add a custom note (e.g., "Don't apply, using combined patch"). Saved per-profile, persists across sessions.[/]

  []Extension-insensitive matching — Creation Club .esm files correctly detected as active even when the DB lists them as .esp[/]

  []Auto-loaded .esm/.esl from loadorder.txt — Skyrim SE/AE loads these automatically even if not in plugins.txt. The plugin accounts for this.[/]

  [] prefix stripping — Skyrim SE/AE plugins.txt uses for ESL/CC plugins. Now stripped correctly.[/]

  3. Patch Detector

  • []Reverse dependency check — finds FOMOD patches you could apply but didn't select[/]

    []Only suggests reinstall if ALL required masters are active (won't suggest patches you can't use)[/]

    []Shows which .esp files you have active that are referenced by FOMOD options[/]

    4. Backup

    []Export your FOMOD installation data as a shareable JSON file — includes all mods, selected options, masters, patch references, user comments, and installed/checkbox states[/]

    []Import a JSON from another user to follow their installation guide — see which mods they installed, what options they selected, and their personal notes[/]

    []Per-mod checkboxes track your own installation progress — your state is saved automatically per profile and persists across page reloads[/]
