Colorful Separators Text for MO2

Mod Organizer 2 already provides an excellent way to structure large mod lists through separators, but the visual customization of those separators is fairly limited.

Separator Text Color was created to expand that system without replacing or disrupting the way MO2 normally works. It allows individual separators to use custom text colors, making large and complex mod setups easier to scan, organize and navigate at a glance.

The goal was not to build a separate styling system on top of MO2, but to make the feature feel as if it had always been part of the application. When no custom color is assigned, MO2's original automatic separator text color remains untouched.

What started as a simple way to customize separator text has grown into a more complete quality-of-life plugin with Quick Colors, recently used colors, copy and paste, multi-selection editing, Undo/Redo, reset functionality and compatibility with Sub-Separator.

The result is a lightweight visual organization tool aimed at users who want more control over large MO2 setups without sacrificing the clean and familiar behavior of Mod Organizer 2.

Separator Text Color is a lightweight Mod Organizer 2 plugin and does not require any external frameworks, game-specific mods or additional runtime dependencies.

Optional compatibility:

Sub-Separator is NOT required for the plugin itself. It is only needed if you already use Sub-Separator and want custom separator text colors to work together with nested separator structures.

Because the plugin only affects Mod Organizer 2's user interface, it is completely game-independent.

Separator Text Color expands Mod Organizer 2's separator system with a focused set of visual customization and workflow features.

The plugin is designed to integrate naturally into MO2 and keep the original separator behavior intact whenever no custom text color is assigned.

Custom Separator Text Colors

Assign an individual text color to any separator using a full color picker.

Each separator can be customized independently, allowing large mod lists to be visually structured by category, priority, mod type or any color scheme you prefer.

Quick Colors & Live Color Preview

Quick Colors provides immediate access to a selection of predefined colors directly from the separator context menu.

Color swatches make each option easy to recognize before applying it, making common color changes much faster than opening the full color dialog every time.

Recently Used Colors

Previously selected colors are automatically added to the Recently Used Colors menu.

This makes it easy to maintain a consistent color scheme throughout your mod list without manually recreating the same colors again and again.

Copy & Paste Colors

Copy the custom text color from one separator and paste it onto another.

This is especially useful when several separator categories should use exactly the same color without having to manually select or recreate it.

Reset to MO2 Default

Custom colors can be removed at any time with Reset Separator Text Color.

Once reset, the separator immediately returns to Mod Organizer 2's native automatic text-color behavior instead of forcing a replacement color.

Multi-Separator Editing

Use Ctrl or Shift selection to edit multiple separators at the same time.
