📋 About This Mod

Mostly Server Side Changes. Multiple Options. 5x Less Damage on use, Halved Loudness Modifiers. Half Fuel Usage or None. 5x Less Decay rate. Slight Movement increase

Description

Surprisingly most of these changes worked server side which i wasn't expecting.  3 mod options so if don't want less fuel you don't need to use that version.  Sort of inspired by real life, i cut wood at work currently for most the winter and i usually get 5-7 tanks worth before i have to resharpen the saw and do general maintenance(unless i hit a rock haha)

  • []5x Less damage on use down from 2 to 0. 4 (reminds me of how they used to be, maybe was a tad higher)[/]

[]Halved Noise Loudness on start and while running (i had one horde in all my testing and that was with nearly 60 logs cut in a row.  This doesn't lower the actual sound of the chainsaw like i initially thought, but the modifier that effects surrounding area to trigger hordes)[/]

[]Slightly increased movement speed up from 0. 8 - 1  (This settings doesn't work server side, but also its not a huge increase)[/]

[]Just over 5x Decay rate per day from 1. 12 down to 0. 2.  Makes no sense a chainsaw decaying so quickly(unsure if server side or not)[/]

[]3x Fuel options: No reductions, General halved usage, or activity halved usage which is linked to the strength skill (higher strength = More cutting time)((If using lower fuel usage in server  settings then you probably don't need a fuel version file))[/]

Options available

  • []5x Damage Reduction on use, Halved noise levels, lower decay rate and no fuel changes[/]

[]5x Damage Reduction on use, Halved noise levels, lower decay rate and half fuel standard[/]

[]5x Damage Reduction on use, Halved noise levels, lower decay rate and half fuel activity rate[/]

Tested in single player and on server.

The durability and fuel usage works fine only being installed on server.  The activity fuel version varies quite abit, on test account with 3. 3 strength i went from 26 logs to 52, but on server with 4. 3 strength i got well over 60 logs while cutting with it.

*Update on further testing it seems the increased strength also applies to the non activity fuel setting also.  So there may be no difference now between the 2 fuel versions, but ill post both for now until i get time to retest them.

I cant test the Decay drain without game time so i'm unsure if that's server side or not

    Requirements

Working in both single player and running on private server.

Mod works Server side without needing to be installed on client.  (only the increased movement setting needs to be installed on both to work, all other settings seem to work just server side)

    Single player Installation instructions:

    • []Download the mod and extract anywhere, then copy the file[/]

[]Open Scum Directory and go to SCUM\Content\Paks[/]

[]Right click, New > Folder, Rename folder "~mods"[/]

      []Paste the file[/]

Running the mod Safely and bypassing battleye

      • []Open Scum Directory, go to SCUM\Binaries\Win64. [/]

[]Right click SCUM.exe and go to Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)[/]

[]Right click shortcut on desktop and go to Properties[/]

[]After quotations add ( -fileopenlog -nobattleye)  remove brackets, make sure a space after quotations from file.  [/]

the -nobattleye isn't necessary due to running via the .exe bypasses Battleye so it doesn't load, but might make you feel safer :).

Press Apply and you're ready to go.

example of my path ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SCUM\SCUM\Binaries\Win64\SCUM.exe" -fileopenlog -nobattleye)

( DON'T OPEN GAME VIA LAUNCHER OR CLICKING SCUM FROM STEAM LIBRARY WHEN HAVE MODS IN THE FOLDER, AS ANTI-CHEAT CANT DETECT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODS AND CHEATS CURRENTLY)

*Note to keep in mind, as a safe precaution i cut and remove the ~mods folder to elsewhere when i'm finished playing.  That way if i want to play on official servers or Private with anti-cheat then i can via normal launcher having no issues with battleye.  Can ignore this if just playing single player or you're private server with no battleye and running via shortcut
