Time Limit Unknown

Description

I created Time Limit: Unknown, to fix a simple problem I had with the built-in Time Limit in Casualties: Unknown.

Although you can toggle the Time Limit On / Off using the built-in difficulty settings, there is no way to configure the actual Time Limit itself. This mod aims to fix that problem by allowing you to adjust the Time Limit using a configuration file.

Do you want to double the Time Limit, and set it to something like 2 Hours? You can do that.

Trying to speed run? You want to make the Time Limit even less forgiving, like 20 or 30 minutes? You can do that. 

Do you absolutely hate yourself? Do you hate having fun? Do you want the Rad Line to start immediately? You can do that. Just set it to 0 or 1.

Requirements

You will need BepInEx / Harmony in order for Time Limit: Unknown. If you don't know how to install or use BepInEx with this game, see the installation instructions.

Installation and Usage Instructions

Note for Linux users:  You will likely need to use something like Wine or Proton to run the game when using a Linux based Operating System. Modded or not.

• []Download BepInEx from the official repository:  https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases/download/v5. 4. 23. 5/BepInEx_win_x64_5. 4. 23. 5.zip (https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases). Make sure to specifically download the win_x64 version.[/]

  []Go to the folder / directory where the Casualties: Unknown game is located / installed (specifically, the folder containing CasualtiesUnknown.exe).[/]

  []Extract / Copy all of the contents in the BepInEx archive directly into the folder (the one containing CasualtiesUnknown.exe)[/]

  []Launch the game once in order for BepInEx to generate any necessary files, then close the game. A BepInEx folder should now exist under the game's folder / directory.[/]

  []Download the Time Limit: Unknown mod (TimeLimitUnknown.dll)[/]

  []Go to > BepInEx > plugins, and place TimeLimitUnknown.dll in the plugins folder.[/]

  []Launch the game (again) in order to generate the configuration file for Time Limit: Unknown, then close the game (again)[/]

  []If done correctly, the configuration file for Time Limit: Unknown (com.chaofanj.timelimitunknown) should now exist under > BepInEx > config, and you can now change the Time Limit using the provided configuration file.[/]

  Mod Only Installation Instructions (If you are already using BepInEx / other mods with Casualties: Unknown:

  • []Download the Time Limit: Unknown mod (TimeLimitUnknown.dll)[/]

    []Go to > BepInEx > plugins, and place TimeLimitUnknown.dll in the plugins folder. [/]

    []Launch the game in order to generate the configuration file for Time Limit: Unknown, then close the game.[/]

    []The configuration file for Time Limit: Unknown (com.chaofanj.timelimitunknown) should now exist under > BepInEx > config, and you can now change the Time Limit using the provided configuration file. [/]

    How to use Time Limit: Unknown:

    • []If you have not already done so, you must load the game with the Time Limit: Unknown mod installed, then close the game. This generates the configuration file for the mod.[/]

      []To set / change the Time Limit, go to > BepInEx > config and open Time Limit: Unknown's configuration file (com.chaofanj.timelimitunknown.cfg), and set the TimeLimit value to whatever you want (in seconds), save the changes to the configuration file, then launch the game.[/]

      []The Time Limit value is loaded / set when the game first starts up. If you want to change the Time Limit to something else, you will need to close the game, change the TimeLimit value, then launch the game again[/]

      Compatibility

      Due to the simple nature of this mod, it should generally work with any Casualties: Unknown mods
