Random Layer

Description

Tired of the same linear progression? This mod randomizes your journey through the layers! Start on a random layer and each time you go deeper, you teleport to another random layer.

Installation instructions

After launching the game once with the new version, a configuration file will appear at: BepInEx/config/com.purpleuser.randomlayer.cfg

Open it with any text editor. You can change the following settings:

Setting: StartLayer

Values: -1 (random), 0, 1, 2, 3, 4

Layer you start on. -1 = random (original behaviour).

Setting: RandomTransitions

Values: true / false

If true, every time you go down you teleport to a random layer. If false, normal linear progression (0→1→2→3→4).

Setting: ExcludeLayers

Values: comma‑separated numbers, e.g. 4 or 3,4

Layers you want to skip during random transitions. Useful for avoiding unbalanced or disliked layers.

Example – always start on layer 1, go random, but never go to layer 4 (overgrown):

StartLayer = 1

RandomTransitions = true

ExcludeLayers = 4

After editing the file, save it and restart the game.
