📋 About This Mod

Your Sawian is replaced with a killing machine with the intent of eliminating any unchipped Sawians it can find in the vast cave system below.

Mechanism Prototype Preview 1. 0. 8

A hostile mechanism preview build for Casualties: Unknown

Overview

Mechanism Prototype Preview is an early BepInEx prototype mod for Casualties: Unknown.

It turns your Sawian into a hostile mechanism unit equipped with experimental built-in weapons, protocol tools, diagnostic UI changes, and prototype target/NPC systems. This is not a finished alternate campaign or polished gameplay overhaul yet. It is a preview build meant for footage, testing, and feedback on the core weapon/mechanism concept.

Current Features

Mechanism Weapon Selector

The mechanism has its own built-in weapon selector separate from normal held items. Scroll the mouse wheel to select a mechanism weapon, then use left click to fire, charge, aim, or activate the selected system.

Protocol Laser

Protocol Laser is a charge weapon with multiple release levels. Select Protocol Laser with the mouse wheel, then hold left click to charge. A quick tap fires a small finger shot; a longer hold releases a sustained palm beam; a full charge releases a much larger two-hand termination beam. Larger beams can keep applying damage while sustained, push through bodies, tear into blocks/buildings, and apply heavier trauma or dismember pressure.

Beam Clash

Beam Clash is a debug-target interaction for testing opposing Protocol Laser beams. Spawn a debug target with

mechanismbody cursor, then use

mechanismbody clashor the beam commands to make it fire back. If both beams meet, they can lock into a shared clash point with camera framing and beam-struggle audio. Spam click during the clash to push harder and overpower the opposing beam.

Protocol Scan

Protocol Scan identifies debug targets before the full protocol flow. Select Protocol Scan with the mouse wheel and left click a target, or use

mechanismbody scanfor testing. Scan tells the mechanism whether a target is chipped, unchipped, unverified, cleared, or valid for protocol escalation.

Protocol Command / Compliance

Protocol Command lets you order a scanned target to comply instead of immediately executing it. Select Protocol Command and left click after a successful scan, or use

mechanismbody command. Depending on trust, fear, suspicion, pain, distance, and chip status, the target can submit, resist, flee, panic, become cleared, or become a valid protocol target.

Protocol Evidence HUD

A diagnostic protocol panel shows scan readiness, aim/range failures, chip verification, trust-floor checks, and target behavior.

Protocol Scan Pulses / Laser Legality Colors

Scan success/refusal produces a small colored world-space pulse, and Protocol Laser visuals distinguish unverified, cleared, and valid protocol targets.

Head Turret

Head Turret fires fast head-mounted shots without needing a held gun. Select Head Turret with the mouse wheel and left click, or press G for the direct debug key.

Sound Cannon

Sound Cannon is a charge-and-release sonic blast. Select Sound Cannon and hold/release left click, or press H for the direct debug key. It is a forceful area hit rather than a precise projectile, with pressure-wave distortion and color separation.

Spike Hand

Spike Hand extends a blade from your arm. Select Spike Hand and hold/release left click, or press J for the direct debug key. Stab a wall to pin yourself there until you release, which can be used to hang from surfaces or stop movement. Stab a body to impale it and keep it attached to the blade until click/release. While a target is pinned, keep aiming the arm to drag, lift, or turn the body with the spike.

Rocket Hand

Rocket Hand fires an explosive rocket from the mechanism arm. Select Rocket Hand, hold left click to raise the arm and project a red laser aim line, then release to fire. Rockets travel at medium speed, leave a trail, explode on impact or timeout, damage bodies/buildings/blocks, and shove ragdolls with the blast.

Offhand Grapple

Offhand Grapple fires a hook from your secondary arm. Select Grapple and left click, or press K for the direct debug key. Hold after latching to pull yourself toward the latch point or drag against it, then release to retract.

Jump Pad Punch

Jump Pad Punch is a launch-force melee hit. Select Jump Pad Punch and left click, or press L for the direct debug key. It can throw you or targets upward and can sometimes trigger Black Flash.

Black Flash

Black Flash is a high-impact strike w
