Cave Diver

Description

Cave Diver adds new aquatic items and gameplay mechanics to Casualties: Unknown (AKA Scav Prototype). As of version 1. 03 the mod is still WIP and has a few minor bugs. It has NOT been tested with multiplayer, so I have no idea if it works.

NOTE

As of version 1. 03 the Advanced Scuba Gear SHOULDN'T spawn naturally OR appear in the crafting menu. IT HAS NO FUNCTIONALITY because this mod's items are meant to replace it. If you playing version 1. 03 and find an Advanced Scuba Gear spawn, PLEASE let me know immediately.

Installation instructions

Unpack the contents of the mod into Game/BepInEx/plugins

Main features

Cave Diver adds new items that split the functionality of the vanilla game's Advanced Scuba Gear, adding new items with multiple tiers. It also add a special "Force Flooded Modifier" setting, which will force every layer to generate with a flooded modifier. The strength of the flooded modifier can be adjusted (up to 10x), and can even be set to increase with each subsequent layer. This setting can be disabled if you just want the new items and mechanics. THESE NEW SETTINGS ARE IN GAME SETTINGS NOT RUN SETTINGS!!!

Swim Goggles

The Swim goggles are a new wearable item that allows for clear vision underwater. Be careful though! They will start to leak when below 50% integrity, and you'll have to take them off to drain the water from them. They can also be knocked off your face if you take a strong blow too the head.

Diving Mask

The Diving Mask functions similarly to the Swim Goggles, allowing for clear vision while underwater. They have a higher durability than the Swim Goggles, and have a special feature. Because the Diving Mask covers your nose, water can be cleared from them with a strong exhale through the nose. This can be done while submerged, allowing you to restore clear vision ever while underwater. Just like the Swim Goggles, the Diving Mask will start to leak below 50% integrity, and can also be knocked off your face.

The Wetsuit is a bodysuit designed specifically to increase heat retention while in the water. It does this by trapping a layer of water between itself and the wearer, which is then heated by the wearer's body heat, keeping them warm. This means that then Wetsuit provides little insulation while dry, but provides significant insulation when wet. The Wetsuit is essential to preventing hypothermia while diving.

The Life Vest is a type 2 Personal Flotation Device. When worn it drastically increased the wearer's buoyancy, causing them to float to the water's surface. The Life Vest will even keep the wearer's head above the water while they are unconscious. It can save your life if you unexpectedly tumble into the water, or is you are too exhausted to swim.

Weighted Harness

The Weighted Harness functions opposite of the Life Vest, drastically decreasing buoyancy when worn, making swimming virtually impossible. While dangerous it does have it's uses, as it will make the wearer sink in dense liquids like Lumalgae. The Weighted Harness is essential for navigating layers with high amounts of Lumalgae.

Buoyance Control Device

The Buoyancy Control Device (AKA BCD) does what the name suggests. When worn it manages the user's buoyancy for them automatically, keeping it as close to neutral as possible. It also allows the wearer to freely float or sink at will, allowing for fully freeform underwater movement with no stamina cost. Take note that due to input mapping, you cannot drink any fluids you are standing in while wearing it.
