Functional 20-Slot Backpack

Overview

This mod transforms the vanilla Lumber Backpack into a functional backpack with its own 20-slot inventory panel.

The backpack can be crafted, stored in the player’s inventory, and equipped in the cape slot. When equipped, it appears on the character’s back and follows upper-body animations.

Press F6 to open or close the backpack inventory.

Crafting

The recipe is automatically unlocked after loading a world with the mod enabled.

Crafting one backpack requires:

The mod replaces the original Lumber Backpack recipe. Its vanilla crafting requirements are not used while the mod is active.

How to Use

• []Craft the backpack at an Armorer’s Workbench.[/]

  []Move it into your character’s inventory.[/]

  []Equip it in the cape slot.[/]

  []Press F6 to open its 20-slot inventory.[/]

  []Transfer items using the game’s standard inventory controls.[/]

If the backpack is not equipped, pressing F6 will not open anything.

When the backpack is unequipped, its contents remain stored, but they cannot be accessed until the backpack is equipped again.

Equipment Slot

The backpack uses the cape equipment slot.

Equipping it:

  []Displays the custom backpack model.[/]

  []Enables access to the backpack inventory through F6.[/]

The backpack and a cape cannot be equipped simultaneously.

When unequipped, the backpack returns to the player’s inventory like other equipment items.

Inventory Capacity

The backpack always provides:

20 slots

Older development versions could display either 16 or 20 slots. The current release uses a fixed 20-slot configuration.

Stats and Bonuses

This backpack is intended purely for item storage. It does not provide any additional character statistics.

The following vanilla Lumber Backpack bonuses have been removed:

  []Bonus Woodcutting experience.[/]

  []Additional wood from Woodcutting.[/]

  []Increased chance of receiving special items.[/]

  []Melee defence.[/]

  []All other granted effects, buffs, and gameplay tags.[/]

The item’s power level is set to zero.

The mod does not increase the player’s base carry-weight statistic and does not add a separate carry-capacity statistic.

Does This Replace the Vanilla Backpack?

The mod does not register a completely separate ItemData asset. Instead, it modifies the existing vanilla Lumber Backpack at runtime.

The original game files are not permanently modified. These changes are applied in memory through UE4SS.

After removing the mod and restarting the game, the item returns to its vanilla behavior. However, the F6 backpack inventory will no longer be accessible.
