Paisano Pass Texas

Paisano Pass is a gap located between Twin Mountains and Paisano Peak in West Texas, just twelve miles East of Marfa Texas, it shares land between Brewster County and Presidio County and sits at 5,074 feet above sea level. The Pass has had a long history of railroads making their way through the gap with the original tracks laid by the Galveston Harrisburg and San Antonio Railroad in 1882. In 1929 the Kansas City Mexico & Orient Railway contracted to use the existing tracks between Alpine and Paisano Junction so their line from San Angelo Texas could extend to the border at Presidio, later the mainline fell under the ownership of the Southern Pacific and eventually the Union Pacific. Today Paisano Pass is used by the Union Pacific and the Texas Pacifico which is what became of the South Orient/KCMO. Amtrak’s Sunset Limited also runs trains throughout the pass. Usual traffic consists of large Z and I trains carrying intermodal goods to and from the ports in LA and regular Manifests, unit commodities are also carried through the pass such as Vehicle trains. The Texas Pacifico often can be seen carrying stuff like frac sand, crude oil and large pipeline infrastructure. Thanks for taking the time to read, enjoy the layout! FOR BEST PERFORMANCE I recommend having the layout and object distance on anything but infinite, it's a big layout and having the whole thing loaded all the time can cause some FPS issues. Having shadows on can also cause some slight hiccups but not as much. Special thanks to Tactical Doomer for giving me the idea to do this layout! Long live the TO&W!
