FRISCO 1630

It's finally here, the FRISCO 1630 for the IRM project. This is one of the most complex and accurate models I've made, as is befitting a centerpiece of the project. I hope you enjoy! They were lightweight engines with relatively low axle loadings. Due to the Bolshevik revolution in 1917, 200 locomotives were stranded in the United States; these were fitted with wider tires, which allowed the effective wheel gauge to be decreased from the Russian standard of 5 ft (1,524 mm) to 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in (1,435 mm), to fit the American gauge and were sent to various railroads. The locomotives were nicknamed "Russian Decapods." St. Louis-San Francisco Railway (FRISCO) 1630 is one such locomotive, owned and operated by the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois. Today, Frisco No. 1630 is currently one of two operating Decapods in service in America.
