Blue Island

If you want the trains to function correctly you must subscribe to all items in this collection: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2891267889 To celebrate the second anniversary of the original Beer Line layout, here is our club recreation of a slightly more southern locale, Blue Island Illinois. Why Blue Island? This rough-around-the-edges industrial suburb of Chicago is well-know to railfans as one of the great junctions in North American railroading. A downright preposterous amount of different railroads can be realistically run though this area across and timeframe from transition era to the present day. If you search up Blue Island (http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locThumbs.aspx?id=36876) you will find an astonishing amount of variation and representation for arguably one of the greatest varieties of trains in a single location in the US. Since this layout has so many railroads, I called upon members of the team who have a passionate interest in specific railroads to assemble consists and liveries. This "as the creators intended" version of the map includes 10 consists with realistic liveries to show Blue Island in its full glory circa 1970s-80s. Special thank you for RR consists and liveries: Belt Railway of Chicago: Halton/Dark Derby Chessie/B&O: Burnt Toast & Crispy Cec CNW: Ballistic CN: TerrainMeister aka William Conrail: Jeri DT&I/GTW: Detroit Indiana Harbor Belt: Halton/Dark Derby MILW: Microcosmologist Rock Island: Microcosmologist Special thanks also to KeviDJ for his YUGE livery contributions The 3D models for the evans coil car, the 40ft Hy-Cube, the MILW GP20 rebuilds, and an assortment of loaded flatcar models were created specifically for this layout. Credit to Anyone99991 and The Pain Train for their original models which are used herein. I also created many prop mods for this as you can see on my workshop page.
