60' Autoparts Boxcars

Motor City Works proudly presents this pack in collaboration with Jeri_! 86' (or 26. 2 Meters) High-Cubes were the DDA40X of rolling stock for the automotive industry, standing higher and taller then anything that came before it, It was the first of its kind to shuck the roof walks and tall ladders as it was also the first to dawn the iconic "exceeds height" marks later high cubes would use later on. These freight cars were produced roughly around the early 70s by Greenville Builders, Thrall Car Manufacturing, and Pullman-Standard (In both double door and quad door variants), With Thrall making the most out of the bunch. These gigantic boxcars came about after countless of experiments on rolling stock to suit the auto industry best. one of the other examples from those "experiments" would be the idea of loading boxcars with automobiles, basically acting as the ancestor to modern day Autoracks. While these boxcars are super iconic with transporting auto parts, they are pretty versatile! and can be used for anything with low density and a big foot print (think like appliances). Despite being made in the 1970s, these things still rock the lines transporting the cargo they were tailored for, from the upper east to the mid west; these things will remain a icon from a time where these boxcars transported parts for the latest and greatest of automobiles.
