Lake Wind Ambience

I've always felt that the wind sounds in this area were a little too quiet, so I decided to remake them in my own way, while also adding a few variations to make the environment feel more atmospheric.

In the first location, I added a looping wind sound that I think works much better than the original. It took quite a bit of work to get it right, but I'm happy with how it turned out. You can hear it just past the lake merchant, in the area where Leon uses the binoculars.

For the second location, I added a darker-sounding wind to better match the mood of the area. Since it's located near a cave, I figured the wind would naturally sound a little different there, while still keeping the overall character of the environment.

As an additional touch to the game's atmosphere, whenever you get close to the lake, you can also hear Del Lago lurking underwater. It's a very subtle sound and takes quite a while to trigger, but I think it adds a nice extra layer to the atmosphere of the area.

The only downside is that I couldn't make the sound stop after Del Lago's supposed death. So I like to believe that Leon didn't actually kill him — he simply forced him to retreat into the depths of the lake. 😅

Sempre achei os sons de vento dessa região um pouco baixos demais, então decidi refazê-los do meu jeito, adicionando também algumas variações para deixar a ambientação mais interessante.

Na primeira localização, adicionei um vento em loop que considero bem melhor que o original. Foi um som que deu bastante trabalho para fazer, mas acho que o resultado valeu a pena. Ele pode ser ouvido logo após o mercante do lago, no local onde usamos o binóculo com o Leon.

Na segunda localização, adicionei um vento mais sombrio para combinar melhor com o clima da região. Como o local fica próximo a uma caverna, imaginei que o vento pudesse soar um pouco diferente por ali, mas sem perder a essência da área.

Como um complemento à ambientação do jogo, sempre que você se aproximar do lago, também será possível ouvir o Del Lago debaixo d'água. É um som bem sutil e leva bastante tempo para acontecer, mas ainda assim ajuda a complementar a atmosfera do local.

O único problema é que não consegui fazer o som parar de funcionar depois da suposta morte do Del Lago. Então gosto de acreditar que o Leon não o matou — ele apenas o fez recuar para as profundezas do lago. 😅
