Headshots Instantly Kill

Description

Zombies and dogs die instantly to a headshot and only to a headshot. This is for players who would like a lore-friendly playthrough.

Shots to the body and knife slashes do no health damage at all. Enemies still flinch, stagger, and lose arms and legs exactly as they normally would, but they will not die. This means that knives are useless against zombies and your accuracy matters. Higher difficulties that limit ammo are recommended to keep the game challenging.

Fire, explosions, acid and anything else still kill normally, at vanilla damage values. Nothing becomes an instant kill that wasn't one before.

Everyone knows zombies can only die if the brain is destroyed. For some people, it doesn't look right when a zombie's head is a bullet sponge. It will make the game easier for accurate players, but that can be fixed by avoiding ammo or playing at a higher difficulty. Pale Heads are not affected due to the lore stating they're very hard to kill compared to standard zombies.

Installation instructions

Install via dropping the zip into Fluffy Mod Manager or by dropping the lua file into Resident Evil 3 2020\reframework\autorun.

Requirements

REFramework — grab RE3.zip for the ray-tracing version of the game, or RE3_TDB67.zip for the non-RT (DirectX 11) branch.
