Cinematic Depth Immersion

Preset Description

This preset focuses primarily on delivering a realistic camera effect, featuring slightly overexposed highlights and depth of field that centers on the main characters. The result is a truly immersive experience.

However, keep in mind that this preset may reduce your performance by 5-20 FPS or even more, depending on the power of your hardware. According to my tests, the only minor issue occurs with fire effects—when there’s a lot of chaos on screen, like explosions and other intense visuals, the cinematic depth of field may temporarily lose focus.

I recommend playing with a lower FOV, as this preset has been optimized for a closer perspective. You can disable the letterbox or any other effects if they don't suit your preferences. However, keep in mind that enabling interlaced rendering will disable the cinematic DoF, as this feature splits the frames into even and odd lines.

If you notice any bugs or issues that I might have missed, feel free to report them—it would mean a lot to me! As mentioned before, I’m working hard to perfect the depth-of-field experience in Reshade.

Installation

Download the preset along with the shaders and place them in the game’s main directory. On Steam, you can locate it by right-clicking on Resident Evil 3 in your library and selecting Browse Local Files. Don’t forget to download Reshade as well—it’s easy to find online!
