📋 About This Mod

A framework for adding non-replacing, switchable custom outfits for Leon, Luis, Ashley, and Ada.

This framework allows you to add a custom outfit that essentially slots into any (except 1 that I haven't unlocked and tested) existing outfit. That way, the original outfit is not replaced.

You can toggle between vanilla outfits and all the custom outfits you have loaded mid-game with a keybind, or manually with a UI button. The last outfit you used, be it custom or vanilla should stay saved for use on the character next time you load the game. The information of the outfits you do have loaded for each character is contained within the script generated-UI.

This framework should help make creating outfit mods easier, because, for example you don't have to try and find files that are specific to separate ways and the main campaign to work for both etc.. You only need to set up one instance of the mesh(es)(etc) you are using and the script will handle applying that to characters in different game modes or cut scenes. You also don't have to worry about, for example, Leon's body armor that is an extra mesh. The script will automatically disable it when switching to your custom outfit. (If you want any separate meshes kept you might have to add it to your main outfit portion, or I could add a feature to allow you to specify not to disable it. Would depend on the demand for it). It's also super easy to apply the same outfit to another character. Just simply put your data in another character's folder. If you aren't replacing textures, you can just have one set of them with your custom material pointing to them.

As long as there is a component for it, (like a chain component), you can add your own component to it just by specifying in your mod's data.

This script currently handles body (the main outfit portion), head, and non-strand hair.

Installation:

Install with Fluffy Mod Manager or by manually extracting the reframework folder to your RE4 base game directory.

Creating a standalone outfit:

This will cover the process of setting up your mod's assets to be loaded by the script.

Install this mod. Go into reframework/data/StandaloneOutfitFramework/CharacterNameOutfits/.

Create a new JSON file, can have any name. The script will automatically load all the data/JSON files from this folder and append them as outfits. Paths are relative to 'natives/STM/'.

Here is a quick example of an outfit:

"OutfitName": "ExampleOutfit",

"OutfitMeshPath": "ExampleOutfit\\ExampleMesh.mesh",

"OutfitMaterialPath": "ExampleOutfit\\ExampleMDF.mdf2",

"OutfitChainPath": "ExampleOutfit\\ExampleChain.chain",

"HeadEnabled": true,

"HairEnabled": true

The keys that you don't need to use don't necessarily have to specified or can be set to "nil" for s
