Gerald D Over Leon.

Before you dowload, i'm going to be completely honest. I'm still learning how to place well my models to match leon's pose and how to transfer weights with armatures. While this is anohter big step i have taken, the mod has a very noticeable crack on the right shoulder when you aim as you see in the next gifs:

As i said, there is a crack on the shoulder. However, it's not noticeable with knifes, the striker and snipers. But, we all think that a good mod should work perfectly fine with everything. Another thing i forgot to mention it's that the cape doesn't moves since i don't know how to use RE chain yet.

How i created the mod!

Ever since I bought RE4 Remake specifically to make mods, creating my first character swap was the very first idea that came to my mind.

I held back for a while, though. The MDF and mesh structure in RE4R is quite different from RE2R, and at first it felt overwhelming. Because of that, I decided to start small with simpler mods like:

But eventually, I knew I had to do it. So, about three days ago, I finally gathered the courage to dive into the mesh and MDF files of character models and actually try to understand them.

That day, I started searching for a rigged model of a character I liked, and I ended up finding Gerald D. totally NOT FROM R6.

I ported the model into Blender, and immediately ran into my first dilemma:

Should I swap Leon’s default shirt model or the pinstripe model?

After comparing both meshes and materials, I chose the default shirt model, since it looked more complete and easier for weight transfer.

From there, the process was:

• []Match the custom model to Leon’s pose

  []Transfer weights

  []Transfer the armature

• Match the number of MDFs with the number of meshes in the custom model

For testing, I decided to load the model with Leon’s original textures, just to see if everything worked correctly.
