Rigging Templates

NOTE: Templates were made on Blender version 3. 1. 2

Those templates are made to help you with rigging, give you a general idea of how things are rigged, etc.

Bare in mind that eyes, teeth and tongue are part of the head model, it's best if you get rid of those weights after transferring (if you did that) and make them yourself, not too hard:

Bone_M_Face_Tongue_01 is the base of the tongue, Bone_M_Face_Tongue_02 is the tip

Lower Teeth mesh gets rigged to Bone_M_Face_Jaw, Upper Teeth mesh gets rigged to Bone_M_Head

Left and Right Eyes get rigged to Bone_M_Face_EyeBall_L and Bone_M_Face_EyeBall_R

I have not used accessory bones such as belt, cloth, coat and necklace in my mods, experiment with them at your own risk or just use cloth physics inside UE4, not too hard either and highly recommended

Male skeleton bone and joint count: 280 and 560

Female skeleton bone and joint count: 278 and 556

If your bone counts for either male or female skeletons aren't the same as above, then you'll need the FBX import plugin patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/6118

Once done with rigging and all that stuff, scale your skeleton (not the objects) to 0. 01 across X, Y and Z then Export to FBX with these settings:

Object Types: Armature and Mesh only selected in Include section

Geometry: Smoothing set to Face, Apply Modifiers only ticked

Armature: Untick Add Leaf Bones

Untick Bake Animation just in case then Export (These settings can be used for anything UE4 related)

Then drag the FBX to your Unreal Project and have fun, might do a full tutorial and upload a UE4 project template if anyone needs
