This script is a lightweight automation tool designed to simplify the installation of mods and custom paint textures for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. Instead of manually extracting archives, navigating folder structures, and placing files into the correct directories, the script performs the entire process for you in a consistent and reliable way.

When executed, the utility scans the current directory for .zip archives containing mods. Each archive is automatically extracted into a temporary working folder (res). Because mod packages often contain inconsistent or nested directory structures, the script then normalizes the layout by flattening all subfolders and consolidating their contents into a single location.

Once organized, the script identifies key file types:

• [].pak files (game mods) are moved into the game’s PAKS directory[/]

  [].tga files (custom paint textures) are moved into media\custom_tga, to make them more easily accessible from within the ship-paint editor[/]

The script prompts the user to provide the root directory of their Rebel Galaxy Outlaw installation and automatically creates any required folders if they do not already exist.
