The Definitive ATF Pack (Boiling Point)

This pack is largely a replacer for the vintage armor sets but also has some modern options featuring ATF tactical units.

The ATF is the most controversial US law enforcement agency with a history of tactical operations with objectively poor outcomes but offers a real world window into how tactical and non-tactical decision making can result in adverse outcomes.  The ATF originally managed alcohol and then tobacco tax collection, but in 1972 was established as an independent agency for managing alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives.  ATF special agents form the law enforcement role within the ATF investigating illegal firearms transactions.  The ATF first became embroiled in controversy with the Ruby Ridge seige over a short barrel shotgun where ATF agents shot the suspect's dog ultimately culminating in an FBI HRT sniper missing the intended target of the investigation and killing the suspect's wife.  The most controversial event was the Waco Siege against the Branch Davidian religious sect near Waco, TX.  Over 70 ATF tactical agents executed an early morning raid on the religious sect's compound despite knowing they were coming quickly resulting in a firefight that resulted in 4 ATF agents dead and a 51 day standoff involving FBI HRT with the ultimate outcome the compound burning down with women and children still inside.  Dogs were executed in kennels during the initial Waco ATF raid.  Controversy continued with sporadic wrong house raids including in 2012 as well as two incidents in 2018 and 2019 where an off duty agent shot a puppy and in 2019 where a dog was shot during a raid.  The most recent controversy was an early morning raid in Arkansas in 2024 with agents engaging in a shootout killing a local airport executive with one agent serious injured over potential straw purchases of firearms.
