Pepper-Ball Gun Toy - HQ Retexture

Here is a pepper-ball gun disguised as a toy! They'll never see you coming with this...

The idea was to poke fun at the original gun (which comes in black/grey and orange or black/grey and yellow irl) and I took inspiration from toys (duh...) and paintball guns. I still wanted it to bear a realistic finish though, so I went for a worn, painted look rather than just making everything a bright, clean, plain shade of colourful polymer.

This was also my first time working with a game that uses the metallic roughness workflow. Tbh, I was pleasantly suprised that UE4s export preset in Substance literally 'just works' for the most part, at least for Ready Or Not (Well, as I realised later with the 5-7 retexture, it's not that simple but it does literally 'just work' with the right texture/compression settings) For FO4 you have to make your own + verify the conflicting information within the modding community + account for the game butchering how your textures look.

Textures are in 4k.

The mod banner was rendered in Iray within Substance Painter.

-Put the included .pak file in Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Content\Paks

-These textures were made by me in Substance painter using the vanilla model and normal maps and for some portions I textured over the top of the existing orm and basecolour maps.
