Kiddo's Dark World Wildlife Weather and Visuals

This is a large personal collection of gameplay changes that I’ve been building upon in my own RDR2 playthrough, which create a more realistic and immersive environment. It contains everything from darker nights, sensitive wildlife, seamless weather transitions, persistent dirt, slower reload, and a whole variety of other quality-of-life tweaks that I felt the game needed for deeper immersion.

VANILLA FRIENDLY MOD

Visual mods don't overlap well, and require immense amounts of merging to be compatible. Instead, this mod is a standalone project that builds on top of the vanilla system. This mod comes as an 'all-in-one' package with easy to understand folders, sparing new players time and frustration searching for these immersion features individually.

DARKNESS

Night is now enveloped by a deeper darkness between 10pm and 4am. Moonlight is a saving grace on clear nights, but intense weather and dense forests will require a lantern to navigate. Encountering wild predators, ambushers or bounty hunters is now difficult and dangerous. Exposure changes also limit Deadeye and Eagle-eye 'lighting-up-the-night' during late hours, making herbs, animals and enemies harder to identify.

Artificial Indoor Light has been removed to prevent unnatural white light showing up in caves and interiors. Abandoned houses are now dark. 

Bloom Adaption has been slowed by 25%, adding realism to natural eye adjustment when the player moves from dark to light, indoors to outdoors or vice versa.

Lanterns now have a warmer tone, since they are technically an oil powered fire source. Still not as orange as the Electric Lantern.

Sky Atmosphere reduced by up to 75% during night time, preventing the sky from appearing like blue daylight at the horizon line.

Vignette has an option to be removed, separate download available! No more dark shadow at the screen edge.
