Open the folders for the file you want to install, and drag the
"lml" folder into your Red Dead Redemption 2 directory.
If you would like John's new bandolier to have the appropriate name rather than be called "Upgraded Bandolier", then you can
install the Bandolier name replacement file by dragging it into your LML folder.
Please make sure your Lenny's Mod Loader is installed and working correctly before complaining in the comments about the
retexture not working!!!

Arthur's Holster
John's Pistol Belt
John's Cartridge Belt
Upgraded Bandolier
John's Gloves
Rifle Strap
Q: Why did you retexture Arthur's holster instead of model swapping John's and retexturing that instead?
A: Arthur's holster is in a merge, so we can't model swap anything with it without making a shop_items file, and
making one for a single holster would be ridiculous.
Classic Marston Equipment Retexture brings John Marston's RDR1-style gear to RDR2, retexturing Arthur's holster, John's belts, bandolier, gloves, and rifle strap. Requires Lenny's Mod Loader. A popular cosmetic mod with 486 endorsements and 21,607 downloads, last updated in September 2021.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 486 endorsements and over 21k downloads.
- Brings authentic RDR1 John Marston look to RDR2.
- Simple drag-and-drop installation via LML.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Lenny's Mod Loader, which adds an extra setup step.
- Only retextures existing items, no new models or meshes.
- Last updated in 2021, may have compatibility issues with newer game patches.
For RDR2 players who want John Marston to look like his RDR1 self, especially those who enjoy cosmetic overhauls. If you're not a fan of RDR1's aesthetic or don't want to bother with LML, skip this.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure Lenny's Mod Loader is installed and working before adding this mod, or the retextures won't show up.
- Drag the 'lml' folder into your RDR2 directory, not into the LML folder itself.
- If you want the bandolier to be called 'John's Bandolier', install the optional name replacement file after the main files.
