Rutland Steam Era Font Pack

Description

This mod contains 2 fonts: Railroad Rutland, the wide version seen on passenger equipment letter boards. As well as the Railroad Rutland Steam font that was seen on the tenders of Rutland's steam locomotives.

Within both fonts, there are two versions: one is the fancy font that was seen on some equipment, and the other is the simpler font. Really, the difference is in the R and A. To switch between the styles within a font, just use capital or lowercase letters.

This is a work-in-progress mod; not every letter of the English alphabet has its own glyph in this font, but the Railroad Rutland has some extra letters beyond those in "RUTLAND". The steam Font has only one style for letters other than R, which has two, as some engines during service had the second R style, while the A stayed the same throughout service.

Also, if you want more letters outside this font, you can use the Railroad Roman font, as it is close to what The Rutland used for other lettering on their cars.

The letters in the "Railroad Rutland" font come from drawings of the original car plans, which I then recreated by hand to match the sizes and look of photos of real cars. The Steam font was based on the drawings, shrunk and edited to match photos of cars using the Steam font, so there might be some small differences between the Steam font here and on the prototype. Will update the font if I find a better source for the exact size and dimensions. Let me know if there is anything that you know could be improved!

Installation instructions

Throw it into the "fonts" folder inside of Legotrainman's logo and decor folder in your mods folders. If there is no fonts folder inside your folder, just make one and name it "fonts".

Requirements

The mod works better with Legotrainman's logo and decor mod, as the font does not always play nicely with the default spaces for text on some cars.
