Olomana 0-4-2 ST

The Southern Railway had recently acquired a rather peculiar locomotive from the Waimānalo Sugar Company.

Due to the recent bombings of Pearl Harbor, the company was forced to

sell off its locomotives, which were no longer useful to their

devastated plantation. Unfortunately, the plantation had a 3-foot gauge

track, so the locomotive had to be converted to standard gauge, along

with some other unorthodox modifications.

The "Olomana" 0-4-2 ST, built by Baldwin Works, is a small yet enduring machine with an empty weight of 18,250 lbs and a staggering tractive effort of 2,400 lbs. It holds about 400 lbs of coal and 110 gallons of water, all for the price of $850.

This is my first mod for Railroader and first one that had time and effort put into (over 100 hours). It was quite a challenge but nonetheless I finally finished after 6 and a half months!

Things to note:

• []The water and coal targets are not always accurate so it will take some time to get used to filling up the loco, my suggestion is to be a bit ahead of the spout/loader.

  []Animations aren't perfect, so you might find some weird glitches/artifacts, but they aren't significant.

• There is no train brake modeled into the cabin (and I suggest that you don't use it from the UI either since I doubt the small locomotive even had an independent brake!)

  How to install:

  You'll need to download Assetloader and UMM. Once you do that, just plop the .zip file into UMM and you should be good to go!
