Thanks for downloading my mod, here is some quick tips and info!
This is a project I have had in the works for quite some time and had put on the backburner, and forgot about for a while. I finally got around to putting the polish on it and here it is.
PrimeMoverAudioReplacer works much like AssetLoader, that in itself it only handles patching audio, it doesn't include its own audio (but I will include my 16-567 sound pack), it is instead looking through the mods folder on launch and looking for any mods that contain "PrimeMoverConfig.json"
You can find prime mover types under the Customize window when you have the locomotive selected.
It will automatically save your selected prime mover type, and will sync prime mover audio as long as everyone on a multiplayer game has the same audio pack, if you don't, the game will revert to default audio.
Future updates will add in compressor audio and other audio as well.
Creating custom audio packs is simple as can be. Download the 16-567C soundset and you can see how the folder structure is set up.
Audio can be .ogg or .wav, do not use .mp3 as unity cannot seamlessly loop .mp3 files.
Ensure that the audio files are set up and named appropriately.
The mod also supports overwriting the default prime mover audio for modded locomotives, simply add any object in the Editor mode or locomotive json with the name of PrimeMoverType: PrimeMoverName (work in progress, sometimes seems like it doesnt want to work). The game will then automatically patch the audio to your audio, and replace the default selection with your own.
Another thing you can add as a child object is ACPM:NO, this will disable the UI from showing custom prime movers.
Files can be set up as a standard UMM install, use the 16-567C file as a template.
