MOTD - Message of the Day Display a fully customizable welcome screen to players when they join your server. Show server rules, announcements, links to your Discord, and more. Setup Add the mod to your server's config file. On first launch, a MOTDConfig.local.json file is created next to the mod DLL. Open that file and set jsonFileLocation to the full path of your MOTD content file: { "jsonFileLocation": "C:\\path\\to\\your\\MOTD.json" } Create the MOTD.json file at that path (see the full example below). When a player connects, the server reads the file and sends it to the client automatically. Note: The mod reads the JSON file on every player connect, so you can edit it at any time without restarting the server. Version Control ("Don't Show Again") The MOTD supports a version number that controls whether players see the message again after checking "Don't show again." When a player checks the "Don't show again" checkbox and closes the panel, their client saves that version number locally. On their next connect, if the server's version is the same or lower, the MOTD is skipped. When you want everyone to see the MOTD again (new rules, new season, etc.), increase the version number. Any number higher than the previous one will work. If the version property is missing from the JSON, the MOTD is always shown and the checkbox is hidden. Example: You set version to 5. A player checks "Don't show again." Later you update your rules and set version to 6. That player will see the MOTD again.
